Criminal Law: White Collar Investigations and Trials

Attorneys in the Feldesman Tucker Government Investigation and Enforcement Group have represented corporations and individuals in white collar and regulatory non-compliance matters. We participated in the political corruption trials involving Maryland Governor Marvin Mandel, the Watergate-related prosecution of Attorney General John Mitchell, the Iran-Contra investigation, and the independent counsel investigations of Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt and of President Clinton's relationship with Monica Lewinsky. We have also represented clients facing investigation, indictment, and trial for allegations of public corruption, RICO, obstruction of justice, bribery, mail fraud, forgery, money laundering and other white-collar crimes. Our attorney's have represented:

• Corporations and corporate officers, including aerospace companies accused of mischarging for government satellites and defective pricing
• A U.S. Park Service concessionaire in connection with an inspector general investigation of underreporting of income and underpayment of franchise fees
• A water purification and treatment company in a grand jury investigation at the Department of Energy
• The Deputy Director of the National Park Service in a trial for illegal gratuity charges
• A Commerce Department official accused of conspiracy, bribery and extortion charges in connection with export licenses
• The head of the Public Works Department of a large military installation facing, among other things, government audits based on the misuse of government funds, embezzlement, and abuse of contract authority and
• A HUD official in connection with an independent counsel investigation.
