About FTLF

Located in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C., Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell is much more than a law firm:  We are a group of professionals with decades of experience in our practice areas committed to providing the highest quality representation and counsel to our clients. Founded in 1970 with the mission of advising federal grantees, the firm remains at the forefront of federal grants law and, over the last 30 years, has expanded its practice to include one of the metropolitan area’s leading family law groups. Regardless of background and practice area, we all share a common commitment to professionalism, excellent service, and dedication to our clients.

Family Law – Consistently recognized by its peers as a leader in family law, the firm’s family law group handles some of the most complex and sensitive proceedings on behalf of individuals living in Washington D.C., suburban Maryland, and Northern Virginia. In addition to using traditional legal tools to get results for our clients, our family practice emphasizes collaborative law as an alternative to litigation, recognizing the emotional toll that divorce and custody proceedings can have on individuals, particularly children. In addition to having three of 2011’s “Best Lawyers in America” in the practice group, we also have a senior-level member of the firm with extensive experience in wills and trusts available to assist with estate planning matters (see Trusts & Estates).

Federal Grants – Having participated in its development into a coherent field of law over the past 40 years, our federal grants group represents a wide array of non-profits, universities, and governmental entities receiving funds under an equally wide array of federal grant programs. We represent the National Association of Community Health Centers and the National Head Start Association, the leading member associations in their fields.

Health Law – Owing to our representation of public health grantees, our Health Law practice has emerged with expertise in public sector health insurance programs (such as Medicare and Medicaid) as well as the federal laws and regulations applicable to organizations that provide health care services. Today, the firm provides a full range of legal services (transactional, regulatory, and litigation) to a diverse cross-section of health care providers, provider networks, and health plans, with an emphasis on the prevention of improper conduct through the implementation of effective corporate compliance programs (see Health Care Corporate Compliance).

Government Audits and Investigations – We know that sometimes even the most compliant programs out there are hit with government audits and investigations.  If your organization is facing a site visit, a disallowance, or simply needs guidance navigating internal investigation, our experienced professionals will be here to guide you along every step of the way.

White Collar Investigations & Enforcement – The Firm’s White Collar Investigations & Enforcement group represents individuals in all stages of the criminal process, including grand-jury proceedings, pretrial proceedings, trial, and appeal. Our white-collar clients include corporate officers and directors, governmental officers, and other private parties. The federal government also frequently engages our white-collar group to defend governmental officers in civil litigation brought against the United States under the Federal Tort Claims Act.  Of course, we are available litigate and advise through our Litigation and Appeals Practice Group, as well.

FT Solutions – If you are seeking assistance with technical writing and analysis, leadership development, healthcare specific services such as provider credentialing, or public policy and government affairs issues, look no further than the firm’s management and consulting service, FT Solutions. We tailor our wide range of services to fit your organization’s individual needs.

Throughout the firm’s history, we have remained true to our public service origins. While we still represent numerous community health centers, community action agencies and Head Start programs, our attorneys remain actively involved in public service, serving as leaders in numerous capacities at a local and national level.
