![]() Developing New Leaders for Tomorrow's Community Health Centers FT Solutions’ Community Health Center Futures Program is designed to assist existing and future community health centers leaders in developing the core skills required to manage emerging programs and projects to enhance and change the way health care services are provided in this country. Against the backdrop of increased funding, strong community involvement, and retiring leadership, now is the time to prepare the next generation of health center leaders to succeed in a changing environment for health planning, health information technology, human resource development, strategic planning, and health care delivery. More attention is being focused on preventive health care measures, increasing access to care and helping our nation become healthier both physically and mentally. As a result, sharing key achievements of the past and offering support to new generations of health care administrators, clinicians and support personnel who will lead the way forward is critical. Now is the time to take lessons from the past, couple them with current management techniques and cutting edge technologies, and prepare the future leadership to fully meet the needs of their communities and the people they will serve. Skills to be honed and developed by participants include:
To assist participants in skills building for leadership roles, the Futures Program will, over the course of one year:
Weekend Retreats: A series of weekend retreats over the course of the year to meet and interact with fellow participants, health center CEOs, clinicians and managers, mentors, and Futures Group Leaders. Regular Webinars: A series of webinars led by experienced leaders in community health center issues on topics of importance to health center leadership. Sponsorship by a Community Health Center: Each participant must be sponsored by a community health center for the initial cohorts of the Futures Program. Non-community health center employed candidates are welcome but must identify a community health center sponsor. Major Project at Sponsoring Health Center: Each participant must work on a major project identified and assigned by the sponsoring health center. The project will result in a report and formal presentation to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors of the sponsoring health center, as well as the fellow Futures class members. Mentoring: By Futures Group Leaders throughout the course of the year.
