Adam Falk, a Partner in the Firm's Health Law, Non-profit and Corporate Law, and Federal Grants Practice Groups, spoke at the annual meeting of the Disease Management Association of America (DMAA) in Hollywood, FL on November 24, 2008. Mr. Falk described the legal risks for disease management organizations and health plans and how an effective corporate compliance programs can prevent, detect, and respond to potential issues of non-compliance. He noted that because Federal fraud and abuse laws apply to both organizations that participate in federal health care programs, as well as those that do not, every organization should adopt an effective corporate compliance program.
