Mary Pence is a leader in bringing a new and more client-centered method of resolution of family issues - Collaborative Law - to the D.C. metropolitan area.  She is a founder and board member of the D.C. Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the chair of the Collaborative Law Committee of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and an observer participating in the work of NCL's drafting committee for a Uniform Collaborative Law Act.  Ms. Pence has been recognized as one of the area's top matrimonial attorneys by Washingtonian Magazine in October 1995, March 2000, February 2004, December 2007, and February 2009, and was named as one of the area's "Super Lawyers" in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
