Professional Information:Sarah J. Zimmerman practices family law in the District of Columbia and Maryland.Named by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the "Top Domestic Relations Lawyers" in the area, Ms. Zimmerman represents clients in all aspects of family law including custody, divorce, and domestic violence matters. Ms. Zimmerman is trained in collaborative law and mediation and is a member of the Board of the D.C. Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Ms. Zimmerman works together with her clients to resolve their family law matters through negotiation, mediation, collaborative law and litigation. Ms. Zimmerman received her Juris Doctor with honors in 1996 from the George Washington University where she was Executive Notes Editor of the George Washington University Journal of International Law and Economics, a member of the Moot Court Board, and a participant in the Domestic Violence Clinic. Thereafter, Ms. Zimmerman clerked for the Honorable James P. Salmon in the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. Prior to joining Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP in 2002, Ms. Zimmerman practiced in the fields of employment law and general litigation and was extensively involved in pro bono domestic violence and custody matters in the District of Columbia Superior Court.
