Susannah Vance
Susannah Vance is an associate in the health law, nonprofit and corporate law, and federal grants law practice groups. She counsels clients on contracting, regulatory compliance, and reimbursement matters.
She previously practiced law as an associate at another firm in the area of health care and federal-state programs. She represented clients in Medicaid disallowances issued by the Department of Health & Human Services, filed comments on proposed rules, and advised clients on Medicaid regulatory requirements. In her pro bono practice, she represented international public health NGOs as amici in a suit challenging conditions imposed on U.S. funding for HIV relief activities, and won asylum and other immigration relief for numerous clients.
She also served as a staff attorney at a refugee resettlement agency, where she managed a federal grant supporting nationwide immigration legal services for survivors of torture in immigration detention, and was responsible for advocacy within the federal agencies on behalf of refugees and asylum-seekers.
She clerked for Judge John Rogers of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
