Marina S. Barannik, a partner in the firm’s Family Law practice, is running for a seat on the D.C. Bar Board of Governors. Marina practices in all aspects of family law with a special expertise in international family law issues and prenuptial agreements. In addition to pro bono work, Marina is currently serving her second term as a member of the D.C. Bar Rules of Professional Conduct Review Committee, which reviews the D.C. Rules of Professional Conduct for possible revisions and amendments.
“As a family lawyer, I value civility, collaboration, and strategic thinking. If elected, I will bring the same approach to my work on the D.C. Bar Board of Governors. I am committed to the Bar’s mission of promoting diversity and increased access to justice,” said Marina S. Barannik.
Elizabeth Selmo, who is an associate in the firm’s Family Law practice, is a candidate for the D.C. Bar Family Law Section Steering Committee. Steering Committee members coordinate programs, projects, and publications and conduct community outreach activities.
“The Family Law Section is an important asset to the D.C. domestic relations bar, and I want to help ensure that members have access to the programs and information they need to serve their family law clients to the best of their ability, whether that is in the context of a non-profit organization, government agency or private practice,” said Elizabeth Selmo. “My goal is to increase programming that both enhances our members’ expertise within specific family law practice areas and provides practical training opportunities.”
At Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell, Elizabeth helps clients navigate the divorce process. Prior to Feldesman Tucker, she was in private family law practice in D.C. and California and was a Research Attorney for the San Francisco Unified Family Court. She also served as coordinator for a homelessness nonprofit project, where she was responsible for program oversight for 14 sub-grantee organizations.
“I am extremely proud and honored to support my colleagues in the D.C. Her judgment and management skills will enhance the work of the D.C. Bar Board of Governors.
