Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP is pleased to announce that it has named Scott Sheffler as partner.
“I am pleased to announce that we have made a new partner for 2017, Scott Sheffler. Scott had a distinguished career in the Navy before he joined the Firm and has shown great skill and judgment as a lawyer in private practice. We are delighted to promote him to partner and expect great things in the future,” said Edward Waters, Managing Partner.
Scott Sheffler is a member of the Federal Grants and Health Law practice groups. Scott has a diverse practice area in matters of federal grant law, government contract law, and health care law. In addition to litigation services, Scott offers his clients specialized guidance in cost disallowance and grant termination appeals before the HHS Departmental Appeals Board, assisting grant recipients with compliance advice, and guiding grant recipients in responding to subpoenas from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Management Board and Budget (OMB) Office of Inspector General.
In the area of health care law, Scott advises federally-funded entities on affiliations, service contracts, and subawards, assisting them in negotiating and structuring such transactions in a manner that mitigates risk and is consistent with their obligations under applicable health care laws and federal funding-related requirements.
Mr. Sheffler holds a J.D. from University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law, and a B.A. from George Washington University. Prior to joining the firm, Scott practiced with the U.S. Navy Office of General Counsel, advising on government contract matters and government investigations.
