This Thursday, FTLF Senior Counsel Kristen Schwendinger will participate in the National Council of University Research Administrators’ Annual Meeting.
Ms. Schwendinger will serve as a panelist for a session on Research Misconduct and Enforcement Trends. Using case studies and examples from recent enforcement actions, she and her fellow panelists will discuss hot topics in research misconduct investigations, including the latest high-risk areas and recommended practices to reduce the chance of a future investigation. The conversation will cover investigations initiated by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and other federal agencies and bureaus.
In the session, the panelists aim to explain the role that various federal agencies play in research misconduct allegations, sharing tips on how to address whistleblower concerns and strategies to reduce False Claims Act and Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP) risks.
The Education Session is scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 2:30 pm ET. You can find more information here.
