FTLF Family Law Team Cycles for the Future
Attorneys from Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP’s Family Law group put the pedal to the metal recently to raise funds for rare cancer research. On Sunday, February 23, 2014, FTLF attorneys Jonathan Dana, Sarah Zimmerman, Katie O’Rourke, Molly Saxon, and Shirley Steinbach shared time on a bike, along with 800 other participants, during a 4-hour spin class with Cycle for Survival. The FTLF team personally raised $3,653 for Cycle for Survival, a national indoor team cycling event that raises money to fund critical research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. “Not only was the event itself invigorating, but the entire firm was brought together for a great cause!” said Managing Partner Jonathan Dana.
Partner Sarah Zimmerman said the event was inspiring: “The family law team was proud to be a part of this incredible event and to contribute to this nationwide effort to build better futures for cancer patients. In less than a month, we raised over $3,500 that will go directly to rare cancer research. Next year we plan to have more riders and to raise even more for this important cause.”
All of the funds donated to the FTLF team’s ride will go directly to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to help patients around the world with treatment options for rare cancers. Since its inception, Cycle for Survival has helped fund 85 clinical trials and research studies and has raised over $31 million. In 2014 alone, Cycle for Survival has raised over $16.4 million.
