An op-ed authored by FTLF partner Derek Adams appears in the August/September 2019 issue of the University Business Magazine, a publication that provides cutting-edge coverage of education news to more than 86,000 subscribers of virtually every college and university across the United States.
In his op-ed, Mr. Adams addresses False Claims Act risk stemming from alleged violations of Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, and provides practical advice to universities and colleges for reducing their risk. Colleges and universities receiving federal funding through student loan and grant programs authorized by Title IV should be cognizant of the Department of Justice’s use of the False Claims Act to pursue alleged violations.
