FTLF Partner Derek M. Adams will be in New Orleans this week to participate in the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Legal Issues & Regulatory Compliance Conference. Mr. Adams will contribute to a panel entitled “Updates on Three Important Issues,” exploring areas of legal liability facing mortgage lenders. The session will address key emerging legal issues, including:
- Mandatory changes to the 1003 to comply with GSE requirements;
- A surge of litigation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) related to websites; and
- The government’s expanded use of FIRREA to cover different types of potential violations.
Mr. Adams is a former DOJ Trial Attorney for the Civil Fraud Division. As a member of FTLF’s Litigation & Government Investigations practice, he focuses on a variety of investigations and matters involving the False Claims Act, FIRREA, and related statutes. You can read more about Mr. Adams here.
