This week, FTLF Partner Scott Sheffler will participate in GW’s Buy American and the New U.S. Infrastructure Legislation Webinar.

On January 19th, Mr. Sheffler will be commenting on the scope and potential impact of the new legislation on infrastructure projects supported by federal financial assistance.  The new statutory requirements establish far-reaching domestic sourcing requirements for iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in federally funded infrastructure projects, defining the scope of covered infrastructure broadly.  The federal Office of Management and Budget (“OMB”) is still in the process of collecting data and issuing guidance, but the requirements will, by law, go into effect for at least all new federal infrastructure awards after May 14, 2022.
