FTLF to Hold Executive Training Seminar on Head Start/EHS Recompetition Grant Writing, June 3 & 4, 2013

By | Published On: May 3, 2013

Due to popular demand and the recently announced second round of Head Start/ Early Head Start Recompetition, the Law Firm of Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP (“FTLF”) is holding an Executive Training Seminar on Recompetition Grant Writing to help agencies get ready to write strong grant applications.  As any entity who wrote a grant application in Round 1 can tell you, these Funding Opportunity Announcements are not business as usual – they are new and different, requiring a strategic approach.

We’ve been teaching large groups on this topic since the Designation Renewal System was announced.  Now join us for something different: small group, more individualized training that allows for more time to share ideas with select colleagues and a leading Head Start attorney. Space is limited to just 15 participants.  We will cover legal, programmatic, and practical issues you’ll want to consider as you move forward in your grant applications.

This Seminar is appropriate for organizations that are currently on the second Recompete List, those that might be on another list in the next few years, or those that are interested in applying during Recompetition for a HS/EHS grant.

*Don’t miss out – space is limited to just 15 registrants.*

What Does this Training Cover?

At the end of this training, you will be able to:

  1. Understand all of the components of the Recompetition Funding Opportunity Announcements;
  2. Learn how to navigate the application process and avoid disqualifying factors and legal pitfalls; and
  3. Use our tips to develop and submit stellar grant applications.

When?

Monday, 06/03/2013 – 1:00 pm – 5:30 pm* eastern time

Tuesday, 06/04/2013 – 8:30 am – 12:00 pm eastern time

*For an hour directly after the first afternoon, join us for an optional mix-and-mingle with other participants and Head Start attorneys at a nearby venue TBD. (Drinks and snacks will be available for your own purchase.)

What Materials Do You Get?

Due to our extensive Head Start experience, we know what questions and concerns plague Head Start organizations. So we’ve prepared Recompetition materials to address these issues. We do our best to ensure that all participants receive the most up-to-date information, presented in easy-to-understand formats.

To provide you with the tools you need to do your job, this training delivers a bound set of slides that include checklists, best practices tips, and other considerations for you to take back to your organization.

In addition, we’ll provide each participant with a 2-gig thumb drive that includes copious amounts of supporting laws, regulations, and documentation needed in Head Start and Early Head Start. There’s plenty of room to spare on the thumb drive so you can keep using yours long after this seminar! (Another benefit: a thumb drive library is much easier to transport home!)
