Marina Barannik Named Fellow of Prestigious International Academy of Family Lawyers

Marina S. Barannik, a partner in the firm’s family law group, has been named a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL).

The IAFL is a worldwide association of practicing lawyers who are recognized by their peers as the most experienced and skilled family law specialists in their respective countries. Membership is by invitation only, and candidates undergo a rigorous review to ensure that their expertise meets the high standards of the organization. Marina is one of only 350 Fellows of the IAFL in the United States.

Marina is especially skilled at resolving complicated custody and property division cases and managing the cross-cultural challenges of divorce involving foreign nationals. She represents a wide range of clients, including politicians, executives and their spouses, and international families associated with global organizations such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and others.

A careful listener and strategic thinker, Marina works to achieve positive results through negotiation, mediation, collaborative law and litigation. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has been named a Washingtonian Top Lawyer since 2015. Marina has also been named a Washington DC Super Lawyer and listed in The Best Lawyers in America. She is a speaker on family law issues in the U.S. and Russia.
