Partner Mary Pence Named to UCLA Advisory Panel

By | Published On: January 6, 2015

Partner Mary Pence has been appointed to the UCLA Advisory Panel by the International Association of Collaborative Professionals (“IACP”).

The UCLA is a uniform statute which provides structure and enforcement mechanisms for the practice of Collaborative Law, primarily used in divorce cases, throughout the United States.  Eleven jurisdictions, including Maryland and DC, have now enacted the UCLA, and the advisory panel hopes to play a key role in supporting its enactment by additional states, including Virginia.

Ms. Pence has been involved with the UCLA for almost ten years, including serving as an Observer to the work of the Drafting Committee for a Uniform Collaborative Law Act within the structure of the Uniform Laws Commission, and playing a leadership role in the passage of the UCLA by the Maryland legislature and by the DC Council.
