Super Lawyers Magazine Recognize 12 Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell Attorneys

Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP is proud to announce that 12 attorneys from the firm’s various law practices were named “Super Lawyers” by Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers Magazine for 2016.

The magazine’s 2016 release features attorneys from the firm’s Family Law, Health Care Law, Administrative Law and White Collar Crime Law practices.

Eugene Fidell, Of Counsel, was selected for his work in Administrative Law. This year’s list recognizes Managing Partner Edward Waters and Partner Kathy Ghiladi for their work in Health Care Law and Partner Cary Feldman for his work in White Collar Crime Litigation. Attorneys selected from the firm’s Family Law practice include Founding Partner Marna Tucker, Managing Partner Jonathan Dana, Senior Partner Mary Pence, Partner Sarah Zimmerman, Partner Richard Gray, Partner Marina Barannik and Partner Katherine O’Rourke. In addition, Associate Jennifer Davison were named as a Rising Star in Family Law.

Each year, Super Lawyers Magazine recognizes distinguished attorneys in their legal practice. Only five percent of lawyers in Washington, D.C. are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers Magazine to receive the honor.

The following Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell attorneys were featured as Super Lawyers in their law practice in 2016:

Marina Barannik: Marina believes that family lawyers have a profound responsibility to preserve rather than destroy family relationships.  To that end, Marina seeks to understand the priorities, fears and needs of both sides in order to achieve positive results for her clients. Marina particularly excels in dealing with the complexities of divorce among the international community and drafting and negotiating complex prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Jonathan Dana: During his nearly 30 years of practice, Jonathan has successfully resolved his clients’ Family Law matters through negotiation mediation, litigation, and the Collaborative process. Known for his ability to solve complex cases and his empathetic personal approach, Jonathan is consistently recognized as one of Washington, D.C. area’s “Top Attorneys” and as one of the “Top Divorce Lawyers” in D.C. by Washingtonian Magazine.  Jonathan has appeared in Super Lawyers magazine each year since 2008.

Jennifer Davison: Jennifer helps clients throughout the divorce process to ensure they feel secure and empowered in making decisions about their futures.  Jennifer emphasizes a reasonable, efficient approach to settlement.  This is Jennifer’s third consecutive recognition as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers – a prestigious honor for which no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in Washington, D.C. are selected.

Cary Feldman: As a Partner in the firm’s white collar criminal enforcement and commercial litigation practices, Cary’s attention to detail, his balanced approach, and his ability to achieve favorable results has earned him the respect not only of clients, but opposing counsel as well. Recognizing the past cannot be changed, Cary advises clients on making the best decisions to minimize the consequences and impact of their prior actions. This is Cary’s eighth consecutive recognition by Super Lawyers.

Eugene Fidell: Currently serving as the Florence Rogatz Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School, he is a Co-Founder and former President of the National Institute of Military Justice and Of Counsel at Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP in Washington, D.C. Eugene also writes about labor, environmental, energy, and military law, as well as judicial administration, and often serves as a commentator for domestic and foreign news media. Eugene has been recognized as a Super Lawyer since 2012.

Kathy Ghiladi: Recognizing that health care providers face increasing government scrutiny, Kathy assists clients in responding to government reviews, audits, and investigations, including OIG and False Claim Act Matters. Kathy’s health care practice primarily focuses on government-sponsored health care programs such as Medicaid, CHIP, Medicare, and the Affordable Care Act. Kathy’s passion for health policy extends beyond the courtroom, as she also serves as a commissioner on the Montgomery County Commission on Health and co-chairs an affinity group of the American Health Lawyers Association. This is Kathy’s third time being recognized as a Super Lawyer.

Richard Gray: A seasoned family lawyer with a wide range of legal and financial expertise, Richard directs his clients’ attention to the future, helping families start anew and rebuild their lives. With experience both in and outside of the courtroom, he ensures his clients are well educated throughout the divorce process.  This is Richard’s eighth Super Lawyer listing since 2006 along with his recognition by both the Washington Post and Northern Virginia magazine as a top family law attorney.

Katherine O’Rourke: Katherine is known for the strength and compassion she brings to her cases. She couples this by moving quickly to act decisively on behalf of her clients’ best interests.  Katherine continues to help clients to see the proverbial “light at the end of the tunnel” so they can move forward in their lives. This is Katherine’s third consecutive year being featured as a Super Lawyer.

Mary Pence: Through Collaborative Law, negotiation and mediation, Mary Pence helps clients experience “good” divorces rather than destructive, adversarial ones. Practicing for 29 years, Mary has repeatedly been recognized as one of the top Family Law attorneys in the D.C. metropolitan area, including being recognized in the “Top 50 Women” by Super Lawyers each year since 2007.

Marna Tucker: Marna Tucker has practiced family law for over 40 years, and is respected nationwide. Known as the diva of divorce, Marna has been repeatedly recognized as one of the “Top Divorce Lawyers” in Washington, D.C.  Among other honors, The Legal Times honored Marna Tucker as one of the 30 “Visionaries” among “Washington’s Greatest Lawyers” and the D.C. Bar named her to the prestigious list of “Legends in Law”. Marna has been recognized by Super Lawyers’ lists of “Top 100 Super Lawyers” and “Top 50 Women” since 2007.

Edward Waters: Serving as Managing Partner of the firm since 2003, and a member of the Health Care and Federal Grants practice groups since 1992, Ted focuses his practice on helping organizations to solve problems, usually in crisis situations. He advises Health Centers, Head Start programs, as well as other federal grantees, on audits, internal investigations, and billing and payment systems. Ted offers clients not only advice on complying with federal regulations, but common sense, practical advice to help each organization perform more effectively. This is Ted’s third consecutive year being recognized as a Super Lawyer.

Sarah Zimmerman: Through her empathetic approach and problem-solving skills, Sarah attempts to minimize the financial and emotional damage of divorce and assist her clients in reaching fair and long-lasting results to allow them to move forward with their lives. Sarah has been recognized by Washingtonian Magazine as a “Top Lawyer” and as one of the 88 “Top Divorce Lawyers” in D.C. as well as by Bethesda Magazine and Best Lawyers. This is Sarah’s sixth consecutive recognition by Super Lawyers.
