Cary M. Feldman is a partner in the firm’s white collar criminal enforcement and commercial litigation practices. Mr. Feldman represents corporate executives, financial professionals, lawyers, accountants, law enforcement officers, and individuals in a wide range of criminal and enforcement proceedings. Mr. Feldman understands that clients who are under investigation, or who have been served with subpoenas or search warrants, or have been arrested or indicted, contend with a host of uncertainties.

Prior to joining the firm in 2002, Mr. Feldman served as the Deputy Independent Counsel for the independent counsel investigation of then-Secretary of the Interior, Bruce Babbitt. Mr. Feldman is also a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.

Having extensive trial experience both as a prosecutor and as a private attorney, Mr. Feldman’s practice includes representing clients in investigations, grand jury proceedings, civil litigation, administrative hearings, and trial. For instance, he has represented health centers in Inspector General false and fraudulent claims cases and other criminal investigations. He represents individuals and small businesses involved in internal disputes and commercial divorces. Mr. Feldman also has represented individuals in domestic divorce matters that involve complex commercial litigation issues or potential criminal issues.

Mr. Feldman received his B.A. from the University of Rochester and his J.D., Cum Laude, from the George Washington University Law School. He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in the District of Columbia and Maryland, and a number of other federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Feldman has written or contributed to a number of publications and is frequent speaker in the areas of criminal and trial practice. Mr. Feldman was appointed by the Governor of Maryland to serve on the Maryland Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. Away from his practice, Mr. Feldman is actively involved in the Council for Court Excellence, his 1100 member synagogue and the Jewish National Fund.

Mr. Feldman’s attention to detail, his balanced approach, and his ability to achieve favorable results has earned him the respect not only of clients, but opposing counsel as well. Recognizing the past cannot be changed, he advises clients on making the best decisions to minimize the consequences and impact of their prior actions.
