Divani Nadaraja is an experienced litigator and accomplished attorney who has successfully represented clients in all aspects of family law. Her extensive trial experience in contested child custody and visitation, complex divorce and equitable distribution, child and spousal support, and protective order matters in both Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts and Circuit Courts around Northern Virginia makes her uniquely equipped to represent clients of all backgrounds.

While Divani enjoys the courtroom and has gained a reputation as a zealous advocate for her clients, she values settlement and works hard to minimize contentious and unnecessary litigation. Divani recognizes that every family is different, and that the best representation is customized to accommodate each client’s specific needs. For clients seeking a less adversarial process, Divani successfully utilizes alternative dispute resolutions such as negotiation, mediation, and Collaborative Law.

Divani began her legal career as the Domestic Violence and Family Law Litigation Attorney at Legal Services of Northern Virginia before moving to private practice. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Fairfax Bar Association and has been recognized as a Rising Star in Virginia Super Lawyers. A graduate of The George Washington University Law School, Divani served as a member of the Mock Trial Team. Divani received her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, with triple majors from the University of Pennsylvania.

When Divani is not practicing law, she serves as a board member and assists in the management of The SAPAN Institute (South Asian Performing Arts Network and Institute), a D.C. based non-profit she co-founded, that is dedicated to the promotion and proliferation of South Asian Performing Arts.
